- SA-DHAN’, the New Delhi based All India Network of Micro Finance Institutions is engaged in policy advocacy for the sector and provides capacity building support services to its member-institutions. It is also propagating sector-relevant financial and governance standards. GDS is an active member of the network, participating in national level training programs and other major events of Sa-Dhan.
- The International Network of Alternate Financial Institutions (INAFI) is particularly active in countries of Latin America, Africa and South Asia. GDS as a member of the network has participated in its international workshops and is one of the founding-members of the India chapter of INAFI. The role of GDS in activities of INAFI is in capacity building support in the context of development finance. Both INAFI and GDS have been closely associated through conducting training programs and also participating in major events, road shows etc. organized in different parts of the country.
- Association has been with ‘Inter Agency Working Group, UP’ to take disaster risk reduction initiatives particularly flood preparedness in eastern UP & northern Bihar region. People’s Budget Initiatives, a national network of budget advocacy organizations, seeks coordination with GDS for budget advocacy focusing towards issues related with poor & disadvantaged at national and state level.
- Under its thematic approaches, migration has been taken up to address the migrants’ issues at source and destination end. An effective advocacy on these issues is made through the network of like-minded organisation ‘National Coalition for Security of Migrants’ at larger platform.
- Informal networks of small NGOs: GDS has implemented goat based livelihood model in network mode involving 3 partner NGOs in Bundelkhand region of U.P. Another initiative was taken to implement agriculture based livelihood promotion through a separate network project with 6 partner NGOs in Nepal bordering districts of eastern UP & northern Bihar.
- Participation in the events organised by other networks is ensured to share views and experiences on development issues from time-to-time.
